Our History

When Instant Request was founded in 1980, owner Shawn Plante had a sincere desire to create an upscale DJ company that catered to the bride whose dream wedding was unique. To help deliver this experience, he developed online software that allowed brides to log into any time and customize their reception at their own pace. This software grew into the most detailed, user friendly event planning tool in the industry.

Instant Request was the first company to really bring LED uplighting to wedding receptions, and has been able to offer it at an unbelievable value. The combination of this innovative software, lighting, and the quality staff that we have always maintained, has made Instant Request the most award winning wedding DJ company in the Twin Cities.

Throughout the planning process we’ve always made it a point to learn about you, the DJ you envision, and not just the music you want to hear. Our focus has always been delivering a unique, individual service for every bride, not hundreds cookie cutter weddings for the masses. It’s this personal approach that has come to define Instant Request, and really make it the award winning disc jockey company that it has become.
