DJ Matt J
Matt is a Minnesota native and has lived here his entire life. Matt began playing music at a young age and found it was something that came naturally. He took to playing drums and keyboard and started playing in bands. He has performed in many bands over the years. It has allowed him to travel all over the country and around the world performing live. Matt also works as an AV tech doing live sound around the Twin Cities. He picked up DJing after becoming naturally attracted to it as a musician.
When not DJing, Matt likes photography, playing with his pets, and attending concerts.
Wow! We were completely blown away with our services with Instant Request! Matt J was our DJ for our wedding back in July and we couldn’t have had a better person to spend the night with us! We had MANY compliments (still to this day) on the GREAT music that Matt played. The dance floor was full ALL night and it made our night one to remember. Matt was super organized, polite and very respectful. He did a great job and we couldn’t recommend him and Instant Request more!
Matt was our DJ and he was very professional! You could tell he loves what he does and that passion shines through in the way he listens to your goals and interacts with the crowd. Am so glad Instant Request matched us with him. The online feature where you can fill out all your information and choose songs was so helpful in thinking through every step of the music, too. Great platform and easy to use! Would recommend.

We hired Instant Request for our wedding and they were great! They were affordable, responsive, and very friendly. The dance floor at our wedding was always full and our guests had so much fun! Matt Joyce was our DJ and he was great – he played a variety of music to please all the guests and we blew a fuse during the dance and he was able to solve the issue and promptly and we continued to have a blast! I struggled to choose my final music selections for the ceremony, but Matt was helpful in answering my questions about using the online event planner and everything went smoothly!
We booked Instant Request at a wedding fair, and they are also a preferred vendor at our reception venue. We were assigned Matt J. and he was great! We loved the event planner website that made it easy to plan our ceremony music and preferred music at the reception. The company communication was helpful during all the pandemic unknowns, and they were very flexible and willing to work with us to make our day perfect. Matt took care of everything which made it really easy for us the day of. We couldn’t have a traditional dance party due to covid precautions but he rolled with it and still made the background music appropriate throughout the stages of the day.
Instant Request makes the DJ portion of your wedding easy and stress-free. They are easy to work with and responsive. DJ Matt did a great job reading the crowd and keeping everyone on the dance floor. We were worried if our family would dance because we are naturally introverted, but Matt took care of that! He played the music that got my family moving!
We absolutely LOVED our DJ Matt J from Instant Request DJ Entertainment. He was so easy to work with and made our entire wedding night go smoothly. Our guests were on the dance floor the whole night and a good time was had by all. We also enjoyed the online playlist system where we could add songs we wanted played and organize the event virtually. Would definitely recommend!
I really enjoyed the online planner that is provided by Instant Request. It was easy to use and very detailed. We got paired with DJ Matt a few weeks prior to the wedding and our phone consultation was great. He went over everything on the planner and got back to us right away when we had a question. He was at the venue about two hours before the ceremony so we had plenty of time to go over additional information and to ensure everything was set. The reception was a blast, DJ Matt played many requests and other songs that got people up and dancing, which was most important to us. We had a great time thanks to him!
Instant Request, and our DJ, Matt, we’re such a joy to work with! They are very responsive, always willing to work with and accommodate their customers needs, and have the best and most talented DJ’s. Our DJ got our tough crowd up and moving, was flexible with timing and kept us on track during the wedding day. Overall such an amazing company!

Instant Request was super helpful and informative throughout the whole process. They seemed to put more care and effort into explaining everything than other DJ’s/companies we interviewed. Ultimately, what we were so impressed with was the way they handled things when something went wrong. Our DJ (Matt) had car trouble on his way to our wedding. Instant Request had another DJ cover back-up very quickly, which only put our wedding behind a few minutes. The DJ who covered our ceremony did a flawless job with no prep time and did not miss a beat regarding playing the right songs at the right time. Matt was able to cover our reception and also did an excellent job. He was easy to work with and provided exactly what we wanted and had planned for with him. We highly recommend Matt and Instant Request!
