DJ Jamal J

Jamal  first fell in love with music while listening to his father’s record collection. This collection was huge and he quickly became enthralled with all genres of music. He began making Mix CDs in kindergarten. Jamal started to seek out music anywhere he could find it.  Eventually he started creating his own music and then DJing himself.  Jamal has been DJing for events for over 5 years now. Jamal has worked with Instant Request for years  and is known as a skilled mixer with an easy going vibe.  When not DJing Jamal roller skates and is frequently in the front row of concerts and live music events. He also finds time to practicing turntable scratching, and run a startup T-shirt Company.

We had a very good experience with this company start to finish. Leading up to the wedding they communicated very well with us and made their services offered and prices very clear to us. They had an online portal which we could access at any time to customize our reception playlist and indicate how much we wanted our DJ to help run the reception (Grand March announcing specific dances letting people know when last call is etc). Our assigned DJ Jamal Jones was exceptionally professional and provided good insight when we met with him before the wedding to go over details. On the day of our ceremony he did everything that we had asked of him and gave us exactly the kind of reception we wanted. And when we indicated to him towards the end of the night that we would like to scrap the playlist and play people's requests and other popular dance hits he seamlessly switched over and quickly gave the party a different vibe. Jamal was professional courteous humorous and fun and made sure our day was as special and fun as he could make it.

Instant Request was awesome to work with. Our DJ Jamal was incredible and we LOVED working with him. One of my most favorite parts of the night was looking over at him and he had a pair of our flashing glasses on – it was AWESOME! He checked in at appropriate times throughout the day to ensure we were on the same page for the upcoming songs which was incredibly reassuring and appreciated that he wanted to make sure everything was perfect. We had two songs that were not on the tracker and it was an easy process getting them to him by using an Apple adaptor cord and/or just texting them to him. He even gave us a card at the end of the night thanking us which was such an awesome touch. One thing that would be nice is if the tracker stayed open until the day of – just a thought. Great experience with Jamal & Instant Request!
