My (very recent) wife and I chose the black tie option and chose DJ Alex Knight and holy sh*t was he amazing! He was better than we could ever have hoped for. He knew exactly what he was doing, made the entire night run super smooth and man does he know how to DJ! He had our very large dance floor packed all night long and was killing it with the music/song choices! Very friendly guy and to anyone looking to choose a DJ just choose Alex and trust us! 

The absolute best of the best! Incredibly easy to work with – you build your profile online for timeline, special requests, and song choices. It also helps with thinking about planning your wedding day! We planned our wedding from New York and Instant Request was so simple to work with, responsive and professional. They have many DJs, but we had the pleasure of having Alex Knight with us and he was AMAZING! From our first phone call to the end of the wedding night, he was on top of it all. He listened to all our particulars for our wedding and Alex had us dancing the night away between our song requests as well as his expertise and knowledge of music for our 30 year old crowd. He knew exactly what we wanted to dance to and sing along to all night long. After my wedding, my brother and his fiancé quickly booked instant request for their wedding next September. Their database/planner was amazing in helping get all of our information for the DJ in one easy place! Once we got assigned our dj we had a quick phone call with a couple questions! Alex was an awesome DJ for our big day! I would highly recommend going with instant request for your wedding!

We had Alex and Marquis as DJs and they were super cool! They kept the party going and got people to come back out and dance as the night went on. If I was to book another DJ I would totally have them anytime! They were amazing!

Music makes or breaks a party and luckily we worked with Instant Request’s DJ Alex Kand he brought the house down! Every song was played at the perfect moment, he mixed the songs so that the energy never left the dance floor. He understood the assignment and knocked it out of the park! I cannot recommend Instant Request and DJ Alex K enough!

Ahh I am a little behind on my reviews, but we had DJ Alex for our May 15th, 2021 wedding and he hit it out of the park! I started off by speaking with Mitch, who was also amazing! Mitch was very responsive and quick to answer emails. Mitch listened to what I wanted in a DJ and said Alex would be a perfect fit, and he was. When I met with Alex a few weeks before we had a drink and talked like we were friends. He wanted to make sure I had everything I wanted as far as a DJ goes. He worked really well with my Officiant to keep everything running smooth. The one thing I remember from past weddings was the DJ, so this was very important to me. Alex listened to all my concerns and made sure the bad experiences I had before did not happen. I will always recommend Instant Request to everyone. Thank you for all your hard work Alex, we hope you had as much fun as we did! 

We chose the black tie route through Instant Request and went with DJ Alex Knight. He immediately picked up on our vision and vibes from our meet & greet ahead of the wedding. Communication was great leading up to the day. Alex was great during dinner and the reception announcing the different events and activities. The best part – he absolutely KILLED the dance, it was exactly the music we wanted. He was even mixing songs together live and giving us and our guests and amazing time on the dancefloor. Everyone was going crazy. He hit all of our “must plays” and didn’t play any busts. His energy and enjoyment of orchestrating a fun & energetic dancefloor was visible the entire time. Do not get any other DJ for your wedding. Pick Alex, you will not regret it. Worth every dollar and then some

We paid extra to work with DJ Alex Knight and I am so so so happy we did. He kept the dance floor packed all night. There were numerous people who attended our wedding and said that he was one of the best DJs they have heard in a long time and the music selection was the best that they heard. We had such a wonderful experience working with Instant Request and our DJ Alex. We had the opportunity to work with Alex from start to finish and he was amazing! Not only did he keep in continuous contact, but he also answered all our questions and made great recommendations for our big day. Would highly recommend working with Instant Request, and particularly Alex Knight. It was incredibly smooth & easy working with Instant Request to book our dj for our wedding. We did not do the black tie service where we can request our own dj, and were randomly matched with Alex. He was everything we could’ve asked for and more in our wedding dj. He kept the crowd on the dance floor all night, and mixed some amazing tunes to keep our crowd engaged. I would absolutely recommend paying the small bit extra to select Alex via the black tie service. You will not regret it! Very experienced and fun to work with!

Highly recommend Instant Request! They were really great to work with throughout the entire planning process and are very skilled at what they do. We worked with DJ Alex and he was awesome! We met him at a brewery a few weeks before our wedding to chat and get to know him, walk through our day, and ask any questions. He is very efficient and knowledgeable! We used instant request for our wedding in October and had an amazing experience with our DJ, Alex. We told him the vibe we wanted and he stuck to it! For our recessional song, we had requested a certain part of the song to play right after they announced us as husband and wife. We just got our wedding videos back and noticed that Alex had seamlessly rewound a section of the song to ensure the certain part played right when we wanted it to. It was so perfect and blew us away!! We have gotten SO many compliments about the music at our wedding. Even guests who could not attend have mentioned they heard we had great music at our wedding. We used Instant Request for our ceremony and reception DJ entertainment. We did not originally select a Black Tie DJ but were allocated one anyways. Alex Knight went above and beyond in his DJ duties and we felt like he really understood our music tastes. He helped keep the dance floor packed all night and that’s exactly what we wanted. The quick communication as well as an easy deferral process (no added fees) due to COVID was such a relief.

When we first started planning our wedding in 2018, I knew I wanted to work with Instant Request after they DJ’d for one of my cousin’s weddings. They are great to work with, quick and responsive with communication, and really provide a lot of collaboration and support in working with couples through the ceremony and reception. We had to postpone our wedding a couple of times due to COVID, and Instant Request was flexible and accommodating of all of the changes that we had to make over the last couple of years. I was even impressed when we discovered that our first dance song from a local MN artist was not on the already provided list of songs to choose from, and they said “Not a problem!” and added our song to their list of options right away! We worked with DJ Alex Knight, and he was great to work with! He helped us with both our ceremony and reception, was very professional, and really helped our day run smoothly! We highly recommend instant request and especially DJ Alex K. Instant request makes the process so easy by filling out their online event planner. You get to choose all the songs for each part of the day but they also provide music suggestions too. Alex was so great and had everyone on the dance floor the entire night. We received so many compliments! Alex also did a really nice job of coordinating and keeping things on schedule. We also had a friend who played guitar/sing during the ceremony and again one point during the reception. Alex was so cool with this and helped our friend with sound check and make sure everything ran smoothly. Instant Request was a great choice for DJ! Everything was so easy from the get go. The profile you set up on their website walks you through every detail and was so helpful. We got paired up with Alex K for our DJ….and he was AMAZING. We had our pre-wedding call to plan out the ceremony and reception. He gave great advice and was really fun and helpful. At the wedding- he was the best! He kept us on schedule, helped chase down the wedding party for the grand entrance, and kept the dance floor full all night. We were thrilled with Alex and highly recommend him and Instant Request. Also- very reasonably priced. Worth every penny.

I can’t thank Alex enough for the job he did at my daughter’s wedding!! He was engaging and open to our ideas. Best of all, the dance floor was packed until the lights came on at midnight! Alex was the BEST DJ we could have asked for!!!! He literally killed it. We cannot stop saying the most amazing things about Alex Knight from Instant Request DJ Entertainment. Not only was he super easy to communicate with, he did an absolute flawless job at keeping all ages of guests up and dancing until the final song. He respected the style of music we liked, played all the songs we requested that weren’t even on the Instant Request list, and then he supplemented those with his own picks that were insane crowd pleasers without being cheesy. We had our ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner, and dancing all in separate rooms at The Minneapolis Club, and he navigated the music around perfectly (which is not an easy thing to do). During our ceremony, he knew exactly when to start phasing in a song so there were no awkward silences, and he modified the father/daughter and mother/son songs so they weren’t incredibly long. Our guests are still talking about how awesome Alex Knight was and we will continue to recommend him to everyone we know.

Best. DJ. EVER. Alex came in with us really only talking online a bit and having a quick 5 minute phone call (this is because I did everything through the online planner). He kept everyone on the dance floor all night long and made the night SO MUCH FUN! Both bride and grooms family were dancing together (which is EXACTLY what I wanted)! My entire family has been asking about him and what company he is from- since he was so awesome. I always give them the Instant Request information for their next get together! We had such a great experience using Instant Request! The cost was very reasonable, and the software/planner was super easy to use and very helpful. We chose our DJ ahead of time and chose DJ Alex who was AWESOME!! We met with him beforehand to chat about what we were looking for, types of music, etc and he was super helpful. We only gave him like 5 songs that he must play and he had control over everything else and CRUSHED it. He was receptive to requests that we had throughout the night and was super accommodating and honest about song requests like “I wouldn’t play that right now, it would kill the vibe” and stuff like that. He was super professional, nice, and DJ Alex kept the dance floor packed all night and I had 10-15 people come up to me during the night and say he was the best wedding DJ they have ever heard. Would recommend 100%.

I have nothing but good things to say about Instant Request. I booked them a full year and a half prior to our date and was recommended to them by others who had received great service from Alex Knight. One of my favorite things about them is their online event planner. It allows you to make a custom playlist (which we did), choose genres of music and songs you like/dislike, and input all of the important details they will need to know. As someone who had specific plans for music, the event planner was extremely efficient and helpful and it made me feel like I was in good hands. We also got to meet with our DJ Alex before the wedding to verify all details in the planner and touch base. As for day-of, I have nothing but positive things to say. Alex helped coordinate speeches, made announcements, checked with us about things during the event, and of course played great music. He was there until the end and the dance party was fabulous! All of our interactions with Instant Request were pleasant in planning for our wedding, and the actual reception went so well, all for a very reasonable price! The office always replied promptly to our enquiries via email, the event planner was very easy to use, the phone consultation was extremely useful and calming as we knew things were in good hands. Our experience with instant request was great from start to finish. Their online booking system was simple, payments were easy to make, and the online planning system worked flawlessly. They were very accommodating even when we changed the date of our wedding. Once we were assigned a DJ, we got to have a phone call with him a few weeks ahead of time to confirm details and answer questions. Even though he was in Australia at the time, he woke up early so that we could have a phone call with him at a time that worked for us. When the wedding day came, DJ Alex was helpful, courteous, and respectful to our family, wedding party, and all guests. He helped keep us on schedule, but allowed room for flexibility when a few things took longer. He knew who to give the microphone to and when to do it. When the dancing finally started, he was an absolute hit. He knew what songs to play and when. The standard lighting setup worked great for us too. It was a great addition to the dancefloor, and was even synced to many of the songs. We’ve received many compliments about him in the days since our wedding. I highly recommend Instant Request and DJ Alex to any couple planning a wedding. If you aren’t sold on the idea of a DJ and are thinking about doing it yourself, think again. Our DJ, Alex Knight, was INCREDIBLE! The wedding dance was very very important to my husband and I, and Alex knocked it out of the park. Our dance floor was full all night, which was exactly what I was hoping for! He was fun, down to earth, and very professional. We loved working with Instant Request in general, too – their online planning system is very thorough and made sure EVERY detail of the night, from the processional song to the last song of the night, was accounted for and planned out. I used Instant Request at my wedding and I couldn’t have been happier! I used the black tie DJ service and picked Alex. He was a phenomenal DJ. He was able to read the crowd perfectly. DJ Alex Knight was FANTASTIC! First of all – when he gave us the option of meeting either at a coffee shop or a brewery we knew we’d be friends. We hit it off right away, and talked through our online planner which was really nice to do leading up to the wedding day. We felt like Instant Request did a really great job of pairing us with a DJ who could read our vision, and jive to our taste, while also reading the crowd and what would help to get them out on the dance floor. We were bustin’ moves all night long, and Alex was great about encouraging us to come out and join everyone after we took little breaks to refill our cocktails or visit with guests we hadn’t yet had the opportunity to chat with (“could we get the bride and the groom out here for this one?!” etc.). We had a great experience, and would definitely recommend Instant Request DJ (especially DJ Alex Knight) to family, friends, and couples looking for a great reception singing and dancing with their loved ones.

We can’t say enough great things about Instant Request and especially our DJ Alex Knight! Alex was phenomenal to work with, he did a great job of reading the crowd and playing the right music to keep the dance floor full all night long. He stayed true to our playlist and style of music and incorporated songs that everyone loved. Alex was the DJ for my daughter’s wedding and he also did the music for the ceremony. I can’t say enough good things about him. His timing was impeccable, he took our suggestions and also gave input based on his experience and he made it an incredibly fun dance. I’d hire him again in a hearty!

My husband and I hired Instant Request for our August 2018 wedding (I fully intended to write this review much earlier, but time clearly got away from me!). We opted not to pre-select a DJ from the company’s list, so we were paired with Alex. Alex was awesome! He was responsive, arrived on time, honored our requests for song choices, and vibed on the crowd and kept the party going all night! If memory serves me correctly, he unfortunately managed to rip his pants shortly after finishing set-up at our venue, but he took it all in stride and didn’t let this snag keep him from doing his job and having a good time. Alex even gave us a sweet note at the end of the night, which was a great touch and really made us feel grateful to have him with us on our wedding day. We also purchased uplighting services from Instant Request, and they did not disappoint! The uplighting made our historic ballroom venue look dramatic and even more beautiful than it already was (we were married at the Renaissance Minneapolis Hotel, The Depot). Definitely worth it!

We couldn’t have asked for a better DJ for our wedding night, Alex was the absolute best! Each step of planning and any questions we had were quickly answered by Alex. The online DJ planner that Instant Request offered was SO helpful in choosing songs for our night! The music from the ceremony, to creating custom song mixes for the father-daughter dance, to the last song of the night were perfect. I was able to grab coffee with him prior to the wedding to chat about the music for the day and instantly knew that it was the perfect match! I love music and can sing along to almost any song but when I am asked what the song name/artist/genre is I am hopeless. Music sets the tone for any event and Alex was able to understand perfectly what we were looking for in each part of the day. We have received SO many compliments from our family and friends (even other vendors!) on how perfect the music and Alex was! I’ve had the opportunity to be in many friends weddings, and the day always has gone perfect except for the multiple DJ mishaps.  No joke, I was very nervous the day of my wedding that the DJ may screw up, as I’ve seen it so often in the past.  From ceremony mishaps, terrible judgement on music content, mis-communication and not personable DJ’s, I’ve seen it all! I had nothing but a wonderful experience with your company, from day one-questions about contract, DJ’s, payments, etc.  Even meeting our DJ Alex prior to our wedding.  I had to cancel on him twice and he was still receptive, positive and made things work!  Alex took all of our requests seriously and made sure every detail was discussed.  He was very professional and approachable which both my husband and I enjoyed.  The day of our wedding Alex came to the venue timely.  He worked well with the coordinators at our facility setting up as well.  He checked in with me prior to the ceremony and afterwards to confirm any details or changes I may have had.  He went above and beyond during the evening, keeping ME on time/schedule (which I completely appreciated), coordinated events/speeches/songs very well and played to the audiences vibe.  His music selection was perfect, and we appreciated him playing songs we requested, even if they were not the most amazing songs ever;)   I did not have time to thank him personally post wedding, however the fact I didn’t need to bug/nag or remind him of things was such a blessing!  He truly took his role of DJ to the next level and truly made our evening reception so fun, with no stress on the bride or groom.  We hope to refer him and instant request to others as we have had such a wonderful experience with your team!  Please personally thank Alex for his hard work and genuine care for our experience.  The night would not have been such a hit, had gone as smoothly, or been as enjoyable without your company, and Alex there.  Once again thank you so much, and for your service, it was outstanding and above and beyond our expectations.   Please give Alex recognition for his wonderful work, and representation he has for your company.  I did write a review online as well.  THANK YOU ALEX and Instant Request!

We loved working on the web site to customize our wedding! It was very user friendly and enjoyable from the start. And DJ Alex Knight was a rock star from beginning to end. He guided us through every detail to make sure our night was seamless. We gave him a few songs and genres we liked and trusted him to to do the rest. We were thrilled with his ability to read the crowd and pick songs that kept the dance floor full the whole night. We had a lot of people tell us that our DJ was amazing as well. If you want the most bang for your buck then book with Instant Request!

Instant Request (specifically Alex Knight) did an INCREDIBLE job! We were a bit nervous at first since their website is a bit older and they don’t assign a DJ until ~1 month before. But wow, we were blown away by our DJ both during the ceremony and the reception. Alex did an incredible job coordinating with the wedding party and the officiant and keeping the evening on track. I especially appreciated that he went out of his way to make sure the folks giving speeches or walking in knew what they were doing. He followed our music taste and guests’ song requests perfectly. We also had silent disco for our wedding, and he (along with the venue) made this such a seamless transition! Couldn’t have asked for a better DJ. The dance floor was packed the entire night! My (very recent) wife and I chose the black tie option and chose DJ Alex Knight and holy sh*t was he amazing! He was better than we could ever have hoped for. He knew exactly what he was doing, made the entire night run super smooth and man does he know how to DJ! He had our very large dance floor packed all night long and was killing it with the music/song choices! Very friendly guy and to anyone looking to choose a DJ just choose Alex and trust us!
