Jamal first fell in love with music while listening to his father’s record collection. This collection was huge and he quickly became enthralled with all genres of music. He began making Mix CDs in kindergarten. Jamal started to seek out music anywhere he could find it. Eventually he started creating his own music and then DJing himself. Jamal has been DJing for events for over 5 years now. Jamal has worked with Instant Request for years and is known as a skilled mixer with an easy going vibe. When not DJing Jamal roller skates and is frequently in the front row of concerts and live music events. He also finds time to practicing turntable scratching, and run a startup T-shirt Company.
Instant Request was awesome to work with. Our DJ Jamal was incredible and we LOVED working with him. One of my most favorite parts of the night was looking over at him and he had a pair of our flashing glasses on – it was AWESOME! He checked in at appropriate times throughout the day to ensure we were on the same page for the upcoming songs, which was incredibly reassuring and appreciated that he wanted to make sure everything was perfect. We had two songs that were not on the tracker and it was an easy process getting them to him by using an Apple adaptor cord and/or just texting them to him. He even gave us a card at the end of the night thanking us which was such an awesome touch. One thing that would be nice is if the tracker stayed open until the day of – just a thought. Great experience with Jamal & Instant Request!
I recently got married and had DJ Jamal . I cannot express how happy we were to have Jamal as our DJ for our wedding, he not only is a talented DJ and played amazing music the entire night, but he also took on an active role and helped coordinate the ceremony and reception with our Pastor, photographer and Wedding venue coordinator, making our day run so smoothly. Jamal was the DJ at my sisters wedding and this is why we requested him again for our wedding since he did an amazing job.
Having DJ Jamal with Instant Request was one of the best choices we made for our wedding! We had the dance party of our dreams! It was a really fun wedding planning and dancing all night.
We saw Instant Request and DJ Jamal at my Aunt’s wedding and loved how he DJed. He was able to get all ages out on the dance floor! From college kids to grandparents, everyone was participating and having a great time! He was also wonderful about coordinating with our venue and guests regarding speeches, the grand march, and the first dances.
Instant Request did a fantastic job of playing our custom playlist. Our DJ Jamal was super flexible and played what we wanted to hear or what we requested during the dance. I highly recommend Instant Request and especially Jamal!
We had Jamal DJ our wedding and we loved our experience! The company was very easy to get a hold of and their communication was great! We had multiple guests tell us that they had never seen as full a dance floor as ours. We got compliments most of the night! Would recommend this company!

Jamal was such a great DJ!!! We had the best night because of him! He made the dance floor so alive and also, he was able to come onto the dance floor with us and danced with us! Talk about braking down some moves! He was absolutely class the whole night! Mad respect for him!
We had a very good experience with this company, start to finish. Leading up to the wedding, they communicated very well with us and made their services offered and prices very clear to us. They had an online portal which we could access at any time to customize our reception playlist and indicate how much we wanted our DJ to help run the reception (Grand March, announcing specific dances, letting people know when last call is, etc). Our assigned DJ, Jamal Jones, was exceptionally professional and provided good insight when we met with him before the wedding to go over details. On the day of our ceremony, he did everything that we had asked of him and gave us exactly the kind of reception we wanted. And when we indicated to him towards the end of the night that we would like to scrap the playlist and play people’s requests and other popular dance hits, he seamlessly switched over and quickly gave the party a different vibe. Jamal was professional, courteous, humorous and fun and made sure our day was as special and fun as he could make it.
Instant Request was great to work with. Very thorough online website for every aspect of sound/music. We also had ceremony service outside which worked wonderfully. Our DJ Jamal did an excellent job with progression of music during our dance and happily extended an extra 30 minutes when everyone was still on the dance floor.
