Originally from Mahtomedi and now based in downtown Minneapolis, Nate has been immersed in music since picking up the drums at just 8 years old. After years of performing in bands spanning genres from funk to blues, he discovered DJing nearly a decade ago—and never looked back. Whether he’s keeping a dance floor packed or creating the perfect soundtrack for a once-in-a-lifetime celebration, music has always been his favorite way to bring people together.
When he’s not behind the DJ booth, Nate works in commercial AV, helping businesses and educational institutions communicate and learn through technology. He’s also tackling an ambitious personal project: building a custom sound system from scratch. Between CNC machining, woodworking, and plenty of sanding, it’s a labor of love that’s as rewarding as it is challenging.
Some of his favorite live music experiences include watching Lana Del Rey perform in the rain at Lollapalooza and seeing Seven Lions accompanied by a string quartet and opera vocalists at The Gorge. Those unforgettable performances continue to inspire his appreciation for the power of live music.
Outside of work and DJing, Nate enjoys disc golf, downhill skiing, card games, professional wrestling, and video games—especially Elden Ring. He’s also an avid reader with a passion for science fiction and epic fantasy, and is always happy to recommend The Expanse to fellow book lovers.
One of the most memorable moments from his years of DJing came when a groom quietly pulled him aside before the grand march to reveal two white geese that would accompany his dirt bike entrance. Needless to say, it was an unforgettable start to an incredibly lively evening.
A few fun facts: Nate speaks English and understands a bit of Spanish (¡Puedo entenderte!). He’s happily child-free and shares his home with two tabby cats. And if you’re stopping by the DJ booth with a song request, he’ll appreciate it if you approach from his left side. A scuba diving mishap left his right ear less cooperative, making it a story that’s just as memorable as it is useful.
